As is usual in small communities, you can find out the news in the morning either in the café or at the local supplier. This was also the case on Thursday in Enzersdorf an der Fischa. Passers-by discovered devastation at the playground – specifically on the hard floor square next to it – rubbish and devastation and exchanged views with the mayor’s wife in the ADEG market. She, in turn, immediately called her husband, Mayor Markus Plöchl, who sent his employees from the building yard to the scene.
The stories quickly turned out to be true. In addition to garbage and obviously intentional damage, grass was also found. Namely grass that definitely didn’t grow naturally there. “And drugs at the playground stop the fun for me. Lots of children are out and about here every day. The perpetrator or perpetrators also endanger others,” said Mayor Markus Plöchl.
The municipality immediately informed the police. This now evaluates the traces and also the images from the surveillance cameras. After there had been acts of vandalism in the community several times, certain places are now under video surveillance. This can now lead to the perpetrator or perpetrators.
Plöchl wants to give the perpetrators a chance. “If the perpetrator or perpetrators report to the community and volunteer, so to speak, we will find a solution together.”
