A total of 800 items were sold at auction in Los Angeles, USA, according to foreign media.
For example, the dress the singer wore at her last public concert sold for more than 210 thousand euros. The yellow, deleted mini-dress for Vainhaus was on her back at a concert in Belgrade in June 2011, a month before she passed away. The sales amount is about 16 times its original value.
One of the relics that came under the auction hammer was a red, heart-shaped bag from the Moschino brand, which took the singer to the Brit Awards in 2007 when she received the award for Best British Singer, and the album Back to Black “was honored as the best British music record.
Meanwhile, the black Temperley London trouser suit that Wainhaus was wearing when she spoke at Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday party was sold for 105 thousand euros.
Fans also had the opportunity to purchase the street name metal plate “Camden Square” from the Camden area of London, where the singer lived.
All proceeds from the auction will go to a fund set up by Amy Weinhaus’s parents to help young people with addiction problems.
Some of the items will first be deposited at Amy: Beyond the Stage at the London Design Museum in Kensington before they reach the new owners. The exhibition will open on November 26 this year.
British media and music critics call Amy Vainhaus one of the defining and brightest singers and songwriters of her generation. Her most famous hits are “Rehab”, “Back to Black”, “Love is a Losing Game” and others.
Emy Vainhaus died at the age of 27 from an alcohol overdose in July 2011.
