more than one in two adults received their booster dose in France

Of 52.9 million adults in France, 40% are waiting for their booster dose.

This is a new symbolic milestone for the Covid-19 vaccination campaign in France. According to figures from Public Health France as of January 6, more than one inhabitant of two adults has received a booster dose.

In detail, this concerns 50.6% of the 52.9 million adult inhabitants in the country. Of these, 40% are waiting for their booster dose, and 7.5% are not vaccinated.

By age group, more than 73.9% of 65-74 year olds, 72.2% of 75 year olds and over received their booster dose. Almost 60% of 50-64 year olds (58.6%) and 34.6% of 18-49 people also received their third dose.

230,000 first-time vaccines since Monday

In total, more than 27.6 million people have received a booster dose in France, or 60% of the eligible public, vaccinated at least three months ago. In addition, since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 53,180,572 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 78.9% of the total population) and 51,962,858 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 77, 1% of the total population), according to figures from the Directorate General of Health.

230,000 people received their first injection since Monday, “a record since September”, according to the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, who spoke on Twitter. Among these people, 20,000 children under the age of 12 have been administered a dose of vaccine, welcomed the Minister. In detail, nearly 57,000 first vaccine injections were carried out on Friday after 53,000 Thursday and 66,000 Wednesday.
