London “Chelsea” and the Portuguese “Benfica” have reached an agreement on the transfer of 22-year-old Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
The now-ex-club of the midfielder, Benfica, announced the deal almost at the closing flag of the winter transfer window. Chelsea signing Enzo will cost 121 million euros. This, we note, is 21 million euros more than the Blues gave not so long ago to Shakhtar Donetsk for the transfer of Ukrainian Mykhailo Mudryk.
Benfica will receive money from Chelsea for the transfer of Enzo in several tranches. The transfer of the Argentine became a record in the history of the Premier League. The approximately £105m paid for him eclipsed a previous achievement when Man City signed Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for £100m.
Enzo Fernandez will sign a contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2031.
