Restaurants, bars, pubs and bistros had to be closed from 14 October due to measures taken by the government to combat the spread of coronavirus. They could only function in the form of dispensing windows. After many weeks, they can now reopen normally. However, they must observe the opening hours from 6:00 to 22:00 and a maximum of four people can sit at one table. In addition, the government has also reduced the capacity of companies, which can only be half full.
“On Thursday, total sales of gastronomic enterprises reached 80% of February values, while on Wednesday it was 46%.
According to Dotykačka statistics, restaurants have improved the most. While less than half were open on Wednesdays, 75% of businesses were open on Thursdays. The amount of average spending in them increased by 16%.
During the entire lockdown period, however, the best way to maintain the operation of cafes and bistros. However, they also improved. 65% of them worked on Wednesday, 86% on Thursday. Their sales are now only 10% below the February values.
The pub was in operation on Wednesday 14%, on Thursday it opened 46%. “Specifically, we assume a certain distortion of statistics caused by the shutdown of cash registers at the smallest companies in response to the relocation of EET,” says Menclík.
According to statistics, the first day of dismantling was also known at nightclubs and discos, which had to be closed during the entire lockdown period. A third of these companies resumed operations on Thursday.
