More than half a million passengers used the OneTicket single rail ticket in six months

Interest in a single ticket, which is not tied to a specific connection, and the carrier increased sharply with the arrival of the holidays.

So far, 505,000 passengers have used the single railway ticket, which has been on sale since December last year. Revenues amount to almost 50 million crowns. Interest in OneTicket grew with the advent of the summer holidays, state-owned Cendis, which operates the system, said today.

“Many people are spending their holidays in the Czech Republic this year and, thanks to OneTicket, they do not have to deal with convoys, parking or other worries often associated with the car,” said Minister of Transport Karel Havlíček.

In mid-June, the number of OneTicket units sold was 350,000. In the following (especially holiday) weeks, almost 160,000 tickets were sold. In addition, at the beginning of July, passengers were given the opportunity to use the ticket on the commercial trains of Czech Railways and RegioJet. According to the Ministry of Transport, OneTicket already covers more than 99 percent of all railway connections in the Czech Republic. Already in June, ordering seats for the OneTicket system began to work, both for compulsory and optional seat connections.

The OneTicket ticket is not tied to a specific connection and carrier, but its disadvantage is the higher price. OneTicket is available as a one-time ticket, as a line ticket for regular commuting and as a network ticket for unlimited travel for a certain period of time.
