NEW YORK – More than half a million New Yorkers have cast their votes during the last 6 days of early voting in the city, state election officials announced Friday.
According to data released by the city’s Elections Office, 839,875 people have voted in all five counties so far since early voting began.
People across the state have been enduring wait times of up to several hours to cast their votes since early voting began last Saturday. About 8 percent of New York’s roughly 13 million registered voters cast their vote in the first 4 days after the polls opened.
According to the City Elections Office, Brooklyn is the county where the most people have voted so far, if it stays that way, the county could keep its title of the county with the most participation that it obtained in 2016.
