More than eight out of ten products on Russian shelves are now Russian | NOW

In Russian stores, 83 percent of consumer products are now Russian-made. That is 4 percentage points more than a year ago, market research firm NielsenIQ has established.

The items that are made on our own soil are therefore rapidly taking the place of products from abroad. As a result of the sanctions against Russia, many items no longer enter the country and Western manufacturers have packed their bags.

According to NielsenIQ, one of the products where the switch from foreign to local is most obvious is beer. A year ago, 79 percent of the beer was Russian, now it is 89 percent.

Beer brewers, including Heineken, have said goodbye to Russia. Their beer can still be found on the shelves; it takes a long time before stocks are completely exhausted and the customer really notices that it is no longer being delivered.
