Zwijndrecht –
On the E17 in the direction of Antwerp, two of the three lanes were blocked on Thursday morning near Zwijndrecht by an accident involving two trucks. That says the Flemish Traffic Center. Traffic has come to a standstill from Haasdonk, waiting times are running up to more than an hour.

According to the Traffic Center, the accident was a classic rear-end collision, but at a very busy point. The driver of the truck crashing into his predecessor was injured and was taken to hospital after emergency services released him from his predicament. His truck has yet to be towed.
The Traffic Center advises traffic over longer distances to opt for a detour via Brussels from Ghent to Antwerp and Hasselt. In the direction of Antwerp, the R4-East and E34 are also an alternative. From the Sint-Niklaas region you can take the N16 (Temsebrug) and then the A12.
