A group of about 100 to 150 beachgoers got involved in several fights on the beach of Zandvoort tonight. At least three people have been injured.
The beachgoers, especially young people, were behaving “extremely annoyingly” by 8 p.m., a police spokesman said. “There was a scuffle here and there, in varying compositions. With each other, but also with bystanders.”
After half an hour, the police intervened with dozens of officers and a few police horses. One arrest has been made. At least three people were injured. One of them is a woman who got a bottle to her head, writes NH News.
The young people were driven apart and were urged to leave the beach. The police say they have many names listed. Most young people have meanwhile left by train.
It was also restless in Noordwijk, reports Omroep West. A spokeswoman said several hundred young people were celebrating. “Laughing gas was used, alcohol was drunk and at a certain point the atmosphere changed.”
Around 11 p.m. was sent home by the police. After that, peace returned to the boulevard and beach of Noordwijk.
