More than a hundred graves destroyed in ‘s-Gravenzande cemetery: ‘Incredibly sad’ | Inland

Officers received a report that night, but once they arrived at the cemetery, they found no one. An investigation is now underway to determine the total damage. To get a better picture of this, the police have deployed a helicopter, according to Omroep West.

The vandals pulled flowers from their pots and threw them across the path. Toy cars that were lying in children’s graves have also been thrown away carelessly. There is also glass from broken lanterns everywhere.

“Incredibly sad that people are doing this,” said Westland mayor Bouke Arends on Twitter.

The motive for the vandalism is still unclear. The cemetery will report the robbery on behalf of the next of kin.
