More than 900 people have been detained in Russia in protest of the war

At least 937 people have been detained in 38 cities in Russia in protests against the war in Ukraine on Sunday, according to the NGO OVD-Info.

The protests took place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladivostok and other cities.

Since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine on February 24, more than 15,000 people have been detained in Russia in protest, according to OVD-Info.

Protesters have been fined or remanded in custody.

Opposition campaigns have been launched against opponents of the war and opposition activists, OVD-Info reported. At least 37 cases have been brought against 43 people.
