Russian law enforcement officers approached their European colleagues with an initiative to hold joint events, but did not meet with a response.
Russian security forces, with the participation of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, stopped the transit of smuggled heroin consignments from the countries of the “golden crescent” (Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan) to Western Europe. About it informs press service of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation on Thursday, May 20.
“More than 810 kg of heroin were seized from the illegal turnover. The perpetrators, accomplices and organizers of the smuggling channel from among foreign citizens, including citizens of the EU countries, have been detained … The punishment for this crime includes imprisonment, up to life imprisonment,” the message says. …
It is clarified that as a result of the measures taken, the activities of an international criminal group, whose members intended to smuggle heroin in batches of 200 kg to the Netherlands, were suppressed.
“However, the opening of the logistic scheme made it possible to prevent the first four deliveries already,” the message says.
At the same time, in order to prosecute the customers and recipients of heroin located on the territory of the European Union, Russian law enforcement officers turned to their European colleagues with an initiative to hold joint events.
“Despite the fact that all conditions were created for joint work, the adoption of the appropriate decision by the partners was delayed until it was impossible to continue further work. Thus, the threat of supply of heroin to European consumers remains quite high,” the press release says.
Earlier this week in Kyrgyzstan announced the seizure of a record batch of heroin – 440 kilos. It was estimated at $ 20 million.
It was also reported that at the Kiev airport Borispol detained the courier with a party of cocaine from one of the countries of Latin America.
