More than 80 abandoned cats rescued at the Samario Sports Center

As part of this intervention, the administration of the capital of Magdalen has deployed a day of comprehensive care in the area and, in collaboration with the Prosecutor’s Office, has initiated an investigation to find those responsible for the abandonment of these animals. It is hoped that these actions will stop these inhumane practices and establish strong sanctions.

Additionally, this week, the Mayor’s Office will launch an educational campaign at the Sports Center which seeks to raise awareness in the community about responsible adoption and the prevention of animal abandonment, promoting a change in mentality towards more ethical treatment and commitment to the well-being of the animals in the city.

In order to provide a long-term solution, the installation of security cameras in the Sports Center is managed to monitor the area and prevent future abandonment of animals. These will allow us to identify the people responsible for this type of acts and, based on this, promptly deploy actions in the event of any new situation of abandonment.

The District Mayor’s Office, headed by Mayor Carlos Pinedo Neck, reaffirms its commitment to the protection of animals, by working hand in hand with entities, social leaders and citizens to build a city that respects the life of all living beings.
