According to a report by the American “BC News” on July 28, due to the weather, the airport in New York City has been greatly affected recently, and many flights had to be cancelled.
The Federal Aviation Administration said it could change routes and suspend flights throughout the Northeast and at airports in Atlanta, Denver and Florida because of the weather, having canceled more than 730 U.S. flights on Thursday. New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport are currently the most affected. At JFK, the average flight delay was more than three hours. Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued across the United States on Thursday afternoon and evening. Severe, slow-moving thunderstorms could bring heavy rain and flash flooding, with flood watches in place for much of New England, including Hartford, Connecticut and Boston.
The Northeast is also facing what could be the region’s first heat wave of the summer. New York City Mayor Eric Adam said our city is under a heat warning from today through Saturday, July 29, and the heat can be deadly and dangerous. Summer centers across the city are currently open and swimming pools will remain open until 8pm. (Compiled report by China Youth Network) Return to Sohu to see more
