This week, the Municipality of Morteros, through the Ministry of Health, has carried out vaccination sessions against dengue at the Dr. José Sauret Hospital, aimed at adolescents aged 18 and 19. Of the 630 young people who must receive the vaccine, only 72 received the dose.

With this low participation, the city reiterates the importance of vaccination and invites those who could not attend to do so next week. Vaccinations are available from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 12pm, at the Hospital.

The Secretary of Health, Hugo Menendez, emphasized the importance of having a high vaccination rate to protect the entire community: “When a larger part of the population is vaccinated, the spread of dengue is greatly reduced, which protects the most vulnerable, such as children, the elderly and people with chronic illnesses, and helps prevent outbreaks.”

Benefits of vaccination:

1.Prevention of serious diseases: Dengue vaccination is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself.

2.Reduction of complications: Vaccines reduce the risk of serious complications associated with dengue.

3.Long-term protection: Vaccination provides an effective barrier to the community, reducing the possibility of future outbreaks.

The town urges teenagers aged 18 and 19 to come forward and complete their vaccinations, protecting not only their health, but the health of the entire community.
