The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) reported that between October and December 2023, 68,847 companies were created, while 68,326 closed their activities, registering a net variation of 521 companies. In the fourth quarter of 2023, 28,074 companies were created in Lima, a figure that represented 40.8% of the total, which indicates that out of every ten new companies, four started activities in this jurisdiction. It is important to inform that SUNAT continued with the verification and registration process of casualties during 2023, which began in July of the same year. According to economic activity, men represented a higher percentage in leading ventures in productive units related to the exploitation of mines and quarries (80.9%), construction (80.2%), transportation and storage (78.4% ), information and communications (74.1%), vehicle sales and repair (72.0%), and agriculture, livestock, forestry and fishing (66.7%), among the most notable.
