In the park of the La Nevada neighborhood, in commune five of Valledupar, the second Comprehensive Pet Care Day organized by the Government of Cesar was held. Nearly 600 felines and canines were vaccinated with anti-rabies doses.
“All these activities are important because these little animals that are part of the family environment deserve good care. And that is what we want from the government that we do it better: that the culture of vaccinating them and caring for them is implemented in each of the Cesarean homes”, said the head of Social Policy, Juan Carlos Mindiola.
During the day, 600 packages of litter for cats were donated to foundations and animalists dedicated to the care and rescue of kittens in different sectors of the capital of Cesar.
“We are helping people who have kittens with ecological sand. We are giving him enough sand and incidentally we are taking care of his pocket”, pointed out Mindiola.
With these activities, the commitment to the comprehensive welfare of animals in the department is reiterated.
“Thank you very much to the governor, it is the second time that this event has been held. We are on behalf of the animal rights activists, infinitely thanking them for these actions and hopefully they continue in favor of the most vulnerable animals”, said Isis Ramos, animal rights activist from Valledupar.
The day of care for animals was organized by the Ministry of Health, the Office of Social Policy, the area of Environmental and Ecological Protection of the National Police, as well as the Ministry of the Environment of Cesar.
«The objective of this day is to raise awareness among people about the care of their pets, about the care of street animals and about animals in general. That is why from the Government We Do It Better we will continue with these days in other parts of the department, “said the Secretary of the Environment of Cesar, Odacir Camargo.
