NEW YORK – About 61,504 pounds of produce recalled poultry and meat kosher, ready-to-eat, which were shipped to various New York retail stores, announced the United States Department of Agriculture, (USDA).
The products were processed in Continental Glatt Kosher Meats Corp, which operates as First Choice Kosher Meat & Deli Inc., and is located in Spring Valley, and were shipped to stores without federal inspection, the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said Friday.
The problem was discovered when the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets alerted FSIS to meat and poultry products produced by Continental Glatt Kosher Meats Corp., without the benefit of a federal inspection and with the inspection mark of another establishment without authorization.
The recalled meat and poultry products were produced on various dates, from June 26, 2020 to November 20, 2020, with various expiration dates ranging from October 2, 2020 to October 18, April 2021. So far there are no reports of sick people or with adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products. Anyone with a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.
The agency urges people not to consume these products if they have them at home and to dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase.
