After editions that have been somewhat battered by health news, this sixth “Talents de Femmes” show will open in Foix this weekend in an expanded configuration.
Women who work for the emancipation and success of other women, this is the credo of the Soroptimist Club, which, with an energy and a constancy that commands admiration, struggles to bring out ambitions and above all to support them. . In 2016, the Ariège club followed in the footsteps of the Deauville-Trouville club, which in 2003 created the first “Talents de femmes” show.
The objective was to promote female entrepreneurship and to show the creativity of women whether cultural, economic, artisanal… Each year, the number of exhibitors increases and on May 21 and 22 there are no less than 61 stands. which will await visitors in the spaces of the Olivier Carol center in Foix. Each year, a “women’s talents” prize is awarded, this time it will be doubled by an “Envie d’entrepreneur” prize which will be awarded to a woman whose business is in the process of being created or in the process of expanding. These prizes are substantial: for the record, in previous years, the club had awarded a prize of 14,000 euros, and the Union Française had contributed a sum of 18,000 euros.
As always, a “gourmet” meal is organised. On Saturday noon, it’s Mélanie Zervos, the chef of the restaurant “Clos-Saint-Martin la Métairie” who will be at the piano to concoct a minced chicken, risotto and green asparagus, and the next day it’s Didier Lamothe’s turn. , chef of the Phoebus, to prepare a lentil fricassee with piglet’s cheek confit in red wine.
