More than 5500 new infections, but figures affected by outage | Inland

In the past seven days, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) received 46,673 reports of positive tests. That equates to an average of 6,668 confirmed infections per day. The weekly average was not that low for the past fourteen days, which may be caused by the outage. The number of infections on Saturday has been adjusted to 5,819, these figures are also lower due to the outage.

Amsterdam had the most positive tests with 381. Rotterdam follows, there 266 residents were told that they had contracted the corona virus. 193 infections were diagnosed in The Hague and 124 in Nijmegen.

The number of deaths reported in the past 24 hours was three. Deaths are sometimes passed on after a while. In the past seven days, RIVM registered 123 deaths, which equates to almost 18 per day.

Number of corona patients in hospitals drops to 2,600

On Sunday, there are 2,600 patients with Covid-19, the disease caused by the corona virus, in Dutch hospitals. That’s 38 fewer than Saturday when the number of corona patients started to decline after six days of increase. This is evident from figures from the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS).

The number of Covid patients in intensive care has fallen by seven to 804. That has been fluctuating between 800 and 850 for more than two weeks.

The number of corona patients in the nursing ward decreased by 31 patients to 1796 in the past 24 hours.

The influx has decreased compared to previous days. Last 24 hours, 214 new corona patients were admitted to a nursing ward or intensive care unit. There were 320 on Saturday.
