More than 5,000 pregnant Russians head to Argentina for child citizenship – BBC News

A large number of pregnant women from Russia have arrived at the airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

More than 5,000 pregnant Russian women have entered Argentina in recent months. In one case, 33 pregnant women entered the country at once on one flight, authorities said.

Argentine immigration officials said all the women who recently arrived were in the third trimester of pregnancy.

It is said that the purpose of entering the country is to give birth in Argentina and obtain the citizenship of the country.
