More than 500 years in the service of the Congregation: Sisters of the Redeemer are catching up on professing anniversaries

Normally, the profession anniversaries of the Sisters of the Redeemer are celebrated in the Würzburg motherhouse during the Easter season. But the corona pandemic and the associated restrictions prevented this. Therefore, the celebrations for the nine jubilees were made up for in July. This emerges from a press release from the Sisters of the Redeemer, from which the following information is extracted:

Sister M. Luitfriedis Steinmetz made her first profession in 1957, exactly 65 years ago. She comes from Schwebenried in the district of Main-Spessart. Sister M. Canisia Zucker from Thüngbach (district of Bamberg), Sister M. Ernestilla Zang from Goldbach (district of Aschaffenburg), Sister M. Irmtrud Krug from Ursprung (district of Main-Spessart), Sister M. Ute Suffel from Aschaffenburg and Sister M. Rolinde Weidmann from Röttenbach (Erlangen-Höchstadt district).

Sister M. Dietgard Matross comes from Dramatal in Silesia. She also celebrated her 60th anniversary of profession, as did Sister M. Dagmar Grünbeck, who was born in Mirkau in the Bohemian Forest. All jubilarians live in the mother house in Würzburg, only Sister M. Renate Schmachtenberger is at home in Steinbachtal. She comes from Berlin and celebrated her 60th anniversary of profession together with the Würzburg sisters in the mother house.

The Provincial Director of the Franciscan Minorites, Brother Andreas Murk OFM Conv., celebrated the festive service with the jubilarians and their families, friends and fellow sisters. It was a happy and moving holiday for everyone.
