More than 50 people have died after being vaccinated in Switzerland. This was announced by the state pharmaceutical regulator Swissmedic.
The regulator has studied 1,174 reports of suspected side effects after vaccination, 577 of which are related to Pfizer / BioNTech and 580 to Moderna.
In 17 of the cases, no vaccine was reported. In 55 of the cases, people died at different times after vaccination. Their average age is 84 years and most of them have serious illnesses, the ministry wrote.
It is noted that each case has been thoroughly analyzed. According to preliminary data, the deaths of the patients were caused by cardiovascular diseases or those of the lungs. According to Swissmedic, there is no concrete evidence that the vaccine is the cause of death.
Earlier, it was reported that more than 40 people died after vaccination in Austria. For the period from December 27 to February 26, 41 deaths were registered in the country after vaccination with Pfizer / BioNTech. In 11 people, the vaccine was given during COVID-19 disease. Another 19 had serious illnesses and may have been the cause of death.
