Particularly luxurious newcomers: Six Senses & Aman New York
The opening of two hotels is particularly worth mentioning. Firstly, a new Six Senses, which will open directly at New York’s High Line Park. This extends in the middle of Manhattan on a disused and elevated railway line. A walk in the park allows a great view of Manhattan and the Hudson River. With the Six Senses, which is said to have 137 rooms, it is already revealed where one of the new IHG hotels will open. The hotel group is expanding its portfolio in New York with the new hotels, having recently reached the mark of 6,000 hotels open worldwide. IHG celebrated this by giving select guests 6,000 IHG One-Rewards points.
Even more interesting than the new Six Senses is the new Aman New York at the moment. This opened yesterday, Tuesday, August 2nd. This is the third Aman Hotel to open in the United States this summer and only the second in a major city worldwide. The new urban luxury hotel is located in the Crown building on the famous 5th Avenue and is therefore in the heart of Manhattan. Before the building was converted into the new hotel, it was a modern art museum.
The Aman New York has 83 rooms and suites located on floors seven through twelve. The floors above, 13 to 22, also accommodate private residences, which have up to six bedrooms and some even have an outdoor terrace with their own pool. More luxury and relaxation can only be found in the spa and wellness area of the hotel.
