NEW YORK – More than 430,000 New Yorkers voted in the early voting that ended Sunday, the New York Electoral Council announced in its latest report.
Midterm elections will be held on Tuesday, November 8, and in New York, voters will choose for the House of Representatives, Senate, State Assembly, State Supreme Court, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and other state positions. .
According to the Electoral Commission, the total number of registrations for early voting was 432,634, however it is clarified that at the close of the polls it is unofficial and cumulative. Of those votes, 133,618 were in Manhattan, 39,069 in the Bronx, 135,239 in Brooklyn, 88,840 in Queens and 35,686 in Staten Island.
The closure of the early voting takes place amid campaigns by candidates running for governor of New York, current governor, Democrat Kathy Hochul, and Republican Lee Zeldin.
