The municipal library of Valleseco has been endowed with new bibliographic funds in more than 440 volumes of different literary genres. In this way, readers will be able to find the latest news in children’s and young adult’s literature, authored and thematic Canarian, among many other topics.
In the purchase of these works, as explained by the Mayor and Councilor for Culture, Dámaso Arencibia, “an attempt has been made to find a balance in the demand and tastes of the population that comes to the Library, in order to serve a varied and diverse public. different ages”.
Action where about € 6,642.07 has been invested thanks to the endowment of the subsidy for the acquisition of bibliographic and documentary funds in the municipal libraries of Gran Canaria granted by the Council of Culture of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.
Arencibia Lantigua, outlined that it is “an important acquisition of books, emphasizing those requested works that normally coincide with literary novelties, allowing, in turn, to expand the bibliography of Canarian authors.”

Finally, in this last year marked by the pandemic and closure of the facility for a few months, we can say the good data of public attendance and library loans, where 2,960 people have come to enjoy reading and / or services it offers, highlighting the loan record of almost 1,000 books.
