The Comptroller General of the Republic found that, during the periods 2021 and 2022, beneficiaries of the Monetary Quota subsidy who were not entitled to it, being Colpensiones pensioners, received around $10,000 million.
What is Monetary Fee?
This program is a subsidy that is delivered monthly to workers affiliated with family compensation funds for each of their dependents, among whom may be parents over 60 years of age who do not receive a pension or have other income.
“Pensioners who are today in Colpensiones, their beneficiaries, received that subsidy and they should not have received it and that was more than 22,000 people last year, the same as in 2023, and those subsidies delivered totaled 5,000 million in one year and in another year 4,000 and something millions, almost 10,000 million pesos”indicated Carlos Mario Zuluaga, comptroller general of the Republic.
The top compensation funds that provided this benefit the most are headed by Compensar, Comfama and Comfandi. In 2021, Comfama delivered 1.2 billion pesos to more than 5,000 pensioners. Comfandi, for its part, delivered 993 million to 2,822 pensioners and Compensar granted the benefit of 421 million pesos to 1,763 pensioners.
In 2022, the turns were similar. Comfama had delivered 1,286 million to 6,465 pensioners. Comfandi delivered 555 million to 2,742 pensioners. And Compensar delivered 327 million to 1,603 pensioners.
