This Friday was the last day of vaccination with the booster dose against covid-19 for over-60s. At least on the last day of official appeals in the provincial hospital of the capital given that, from now on, those who want to receive this vaccine will have to do so through their nurses in health facilities, including in the province, even if in this case it is not a call pending.
But after official appeals, the figure obtained is more than 39,000 people who received this extra dose of vaccine, adapted to the two most circulating subvariants of omicron. According to official data from Sanidad Castilla y León, 39,376 people in Avila have received the fourth dose of the vaccine, although Friday’s data has yet to be updated, so the figure will still rise. For now, 27.15 percent of the population has received the vaccine, taking into account that it is only administered to those over 60, people with immunosuppression and socio-health personnel.
Vaccination is closed but the pandemic is still present in our lives, even if it is true that the incidence continues to drop. According to the latest data, in the over-60s there are 228 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days and 88 in one week, figures higher than the average for Castilla y León. In the capital, this incidence is 255 and 118 cases respectively.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 54,681 confirmed cases of covid-19 have been declared in Ávila, with 52 more positive since last Tuesday, the last day with data.
The situation in the province is 221 municipalities with controlled circulation, eight at low risk, nine at medium risk, six at high risk and four at very high risk.
The highest incidence is in Sotillo de La Adrada, with more than 1,800 cases per 100,000 inhabitants within 14 days in those over the age of 60, a figure that should decrease given that no positives have been recorded in the last week. Cebreros and Sotillo de la Adrada also exceed 400 cases of incidence and, therefore, exceed the provincial average.
In absolute figures, beyond the capital, in Cebreros three cases have been registered in the last week and in Arenas de San Pedro and Las Navas del Marqués, two.
From the data that is published regarding the hospital, there is a decrease in hospitalized patients positive for covid. According to the latest information published, there are 22 hospitalized at the Nuestra Señora de Sonsoles hospital, where the positive covid patients are concentrated, while a few days ago there were 22. The number of hospitalized decreases but not as much as that of discharges, which were 18 in recent days.
All the patients are on the floor, nobody is in the ICU.
As regards mortality, according to information transmitted through the Territorial Delegation of the Council, in recent days there has been the death of a person infected with covid and who had been hospitalized.
