The Tumbes region received more than 300,000 vaccines against covid-19 today, a donation from the neighboring country of Ecuador to complete the immunization in the border towns of Tumbes, Piura and Cajamarca, said the provincial mayor, Jimy Silva Mena.

The mayor, also president of the Binational Association of Mayors of Southern Ecuador and Northern Peru, thanked Ecuador for donating the vaccines and urged the population to actively participate in the immunization day, so that the border stay healthy and soon both governments decide to reopen it, which will help to reactivate the economy.

It should be noted that such donation is the result of coordinated efforts made between the authorities of both countries.

This Friday the 17th, the immunization process will take place, simultaneously with the Ecuadorian province of El Oro.
