There are already more than 3,000 people with COVID-19 in Belgian hospitals. On average, more than 300 people are admitted to hospital every day.
Yesterday, 3,274 people were in hospital, 525 of whom are in intensive care. Between October 15 and 21, an average of 319.1 new patients were admitted to the hospital every day, an 88 percent increase from the previous week. Between 12 and 18 October, an average of 9,692.6 corona infections were added daily. That is an increase of 75 percent compared to the seven days before. A total of 253,386 people have already been infected with the virus. The number of deaths rose to 10,539. From 12 to 18 October, 33.1 people died every day from COVID-19 (+13.4). The positivity ratio, the number of people who test positive in relation to the total number of tests, is now 16.3 percent
