On September 25, France Bleu Sud Lorraine relayed Valérie’s request to Internet users to send postcards from the Vosges for her father hospitalized in the Paris region. In a dozen days, this native of Taintrux, in the Vosges, received nearly 300 letters ! And not necessarily postcards. The senders showed their imagination by also sending newspapers, drawings and even videos. “We even receive maps of Corsica, Toulouse, many regionsmarvels Valérie. With such kind, so caring words.”
“Like a child at Christmas”
Worried about his father’s healthwidowed for six months and hospitalized several times, this resident of Rambouillet had the idea of launching this letter appeal. She wanted give courage to Daniel, and the taste for life. “It had the desired effect, it’s fantasticsays Valérie. He’s waiting for his letters, except he doesn’t have time to open them all! So he saves some for the next day, but every day there are new ones. He’s like a child at Christmas!”
Valérie did not expect a such a surge of solidarity : “I really thank everyone, made him smile again, he’s so happy.” Still hospitalized, Daniel’s medical results are on track. And the project to revisit the Vosges too. “We plan to go there for All Saints’ Day if all goes well”confirms his daughter. She promises to give news of her dad, and to tell us reunion with his native land.
