More than 28,000 visitors to the fire brigade trade fair in Dresden

Fires, floods or other types of disasters: without technology, emergency services often have difficulty making progress. It remains a magnet for visitors.

Dresden.

The “Florian” fire brigade fair in Dresden is once again very popular. More than 28,000 visitors came to this trade fair for disaster control and firefighting on the exhibition grounds in the past few days, as the organizer announced. Around 370 exhibitors from 15 countries presented their products and technologies for emergencies on over 30,000 square meters of exhibition space.

The fair – named after the patron saint of firefighters – was created in 1997 on the occasion of the German Youth Fire Brigade Day in Dresden. According to the organizers, it has developed into the largest annual trade fair for emergency services in this area in German-speaking countries. In addition to fire engines, pumps and syringes, drones were also on display.

Exhibitors demonstrate their approach to emergencies

Exhibitors demonstrated their approach to emergencies during demonstrations, for example when rescuing people who got caught in a combine harvester. The trade fair was accompanied by a specialist program on topics such as heavy rain. A specialist day on psychosocial emergency care for emergency services had its premiere. Rescue workers are often confronted with dramatic situations and then need help themselves.
