2,616 new cases of cancer were detected in Ourense in the last year. Of these, 1,058 are women and 1,558 men. The incidence rate is 858 new cases detected per 100,000 inhabitants. The most frequent cancer is colorectal cancer with 391 new cases in the last year, followed by prostate cancer with 323 and breast cancer with 272. These data were announced yesterday at the Teatro Principal de Ourense in the “Cancer Tour ” in which the national president of the AECC, Ramón Reyes; the president of the AECC of Ourense, Germán Rodríguez Saá; and Dr. Carlos López Otín. Previously, the new headquarters of the AECC of Ourense was inaugurated at Calle Doctor Marañón, 21, a new location to improve the experience and care for people with cancer and their families.
