The device prepared by the Alicante City Council to facilitate the donation of blood in times of pandemic, consisting of articulating a new system of prior appointment, has had a great reception in its implementation, with a total of 256 people who signed up for go to the facilities of the old bus station, in Seneca Square, last Friday.
The mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala, who came to the venue and donated blood, has expressed the “total predisposition of the Alicante City Council to repeat this system as many times as necessary so that blood donation is even safer and seen as little as possible affected by the pandemic ”.
After registering in the pre-appointment system, 99 people attended the venue located in Plaza Seneca in the morning and a total of 157 in the afternoon. With this system, crowds are avoided and donations were made easier for the supporters who came to the old bus station.
The Alicante City Council maintains a great collaboration with the Transfusion Center, to which it gives access to its facilities permanently and whenever it is required to organize a blood donation campaign.
