In Spain, which was hit hard by the corona pandemic, the number of infections recorded rose to more than 200,000 on Monday.
The number of new infections has been falling for days – it was around 4,200 at the beginning of the week, although late registrations from the weekend could be added in the next few days, as the head of the Authority for Health Emergencies (CCAES), Fernando Simon, explained.

The number of deaths is also decreasing: 399 victims have been recorded in the past 24 hours. “Today the number has dropped below 400 for the first time, and this data gives us hope,” said Simon. At the beginning of April there were at times more than 900 deaths a day.
