More than 2,000 people join protest in London against criminalizing refugee seekers and illegal immigration bill.

London: Widespread protests in London against the government’s illegal immigration bill. Anadolu news agency reported that more than 2,000 people participated in Saturday’s protest.

Protesters came to the Prime Minister’s residence with slogans saying welcome to the refugees.

The protest was led by a group called Stand Up to Racism. Anadolu reports that many organizations such as Stop the War Coalition, Black Lives Matters, Muslims and Juta Societies and others are also part of the protest.

Protesters who say they oppose the Conservative Party’s immigration policies have also criticized Interior Minister Svella Braverman for introducing the Rwanda Plan and the Illegal Immigration Bill.

The protestors protested with slogans such as ‘stop deportation’, ‘safe travel not Rwanda flight’ and ‘seeking asylum is not a crime’.

Melli, who participated in the protest, told Anadolu that she came to stand in solidarity with those who seek asylum in the country and that the country does not treat them fairly.

NDTV also reported that Mark Daly, one of the organizers of the protest, said that the people of this country are good and they are ready to welcome those who are suffering with open arms. They added that the Rwanda project was not legal.

Meanwhile, the British government introduced the Illegal Immigration Bill this month to remove people who come to London in violation of immigration laws. Siyasat reported that the bill also says that such people should be imprisoned.

But in recent days, UNICEF has also come forward to condemn London’s illegal immigration bill.
