More than 2,000 people have died and more than 9,500 have been injured by the attacks that Israel has launched against different points of the Lebanon in almost a year, although the vast majority of victims have occurred in about two weeks after the start of the massive Israeli bombing campaign.
According to a report from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers published this Friday, the number of victims increased after Israel launched a total of 153 attacks against different parts of Lebanon, mainly in the south, east and southern suburbs of Lebanon. Beirut known as the Dahye.
In turn, violence has forced more than 1.2 million people to leave their homes. Most of them have gone to relatives’ houses, rental apartments, hotels or have left the country, while 172,100 displaced people are in the 931 shelters set up by the Lebanese Government.
However, 76.4% of these schools, institutes and public pavilions converted into improvised reception centers are “completely full”, mainly in the capital, Beirut, and in the Mount Lebanon.
On the other hand, the report ensures that Israeli bombings continue to be concentrated in southern Lebanon, specifically in the districts of Tyre, Marjayun and Bint Jbeil, areas that the Israeli Army has ordered to evacuate to carry out intense air attacks, foreseeably in preparation to advance by land.
Israeli forces began “limited” ground operations in southern Lebanon early Tuesday, although the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah He assures that he is containing this offensive that, so far, is taking place in the villages closest to the common boundary. EFE (I)
