More than 200 preschoolers quarantined in Ixelles

In the Brussels municipality of Ixelles, about 210 children from two different kindergartens are in quarantine, after two extracurricular animators tested positive for COVID-19. This confirms the alderman of education Romain de Reusme (PS).

It concerns more than 200 young children under the age of six from municipal schools 7 and 8 who are obliged to be quarantined, because they are considered to be unable to respect the social distance. If they were older, maybe they shouldn’t have.

Alderman of Education de Reusme realizes that this involves a large number of children. This is due to the fact that the animators work in several schools and therefore also work with several classes. The parents of the children were notified by e-mail and by telephone on Sunday. To remain transparent, a general email was also sent to all parents of all other children in the schools involved.
