More than 1,500 people want to test a new corona vaccine at UMCG

For the test with the American Akston Biosciences corona vaccine at the UMCG 1,500 registrations were received within one day.

There are only 176 spots available within the test group. According to spokesman Lex Kloosterman, the boom in registrations is not unexpected. “At first the researchers had their doubts whether there would be enough registrations, but I immediately said: that will be fine!”

The researchers would like to start the research quickly and will therefore, as soon as possible, select participants who meet the criteria.

In the test, participants will be given one or two doses of Akston Biosciences’ new AKS452 vaccine.
