More than 1,300 people present themselves to the oppositions of the Civil Guard in Seville

More than 1,300 people appear this weekend in Seville for the entrance exams for the Civil Guard. In total they are 1.343 the applicants who will be examined in the Andalusian capital, of which 379 they are women. Sevilla is one of the headquarters of this opposition at the national level, which is attended by 25.987 personas.

They all aspire to one of the 1,671 places for the scale of corporals and guards of the armed institute offered this year. Of the total number of applicants, 7,620 are women, that is, 29.3%, the highest historical figure.



As regards the level of training, it stands out 6,087 university graduates, among which there are 1,554 with a master’s degree and 18 with a doctorate. By age range, half of the applicants are between 23 and 30 years old, leaving the average age of applicants at 28 years.

The opposition phase is divided into four tests: knowledge, physics, personal interview and medical examination. For the knowledge exam, the Civil Guard has established 19 offices, located in 13 autonomous communities distributed as follows: Alicante, Baeza, Cádiz, Calatayud, Gijón, Granada, Gran Canaria, León, Logroño, Madrid, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Merida, Murcia, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Seville, Toledo, Valencia and Vigo.

The information on the venues, including plans and sketches to facilitate access to them, has been disseminated through the website of the Civil Guard. In the case of Sevilla (where people with registration address in the provinces of Seville and Huelva participate), the tests are held in the classrooms from 1 to 10 of the Pablo de Olavide University.

Previously, the first phase has been carried out, that of competition, in which the merits that each opponent adds to the minimum requirements required to be able to participate in these selective tests. Being between 18 and 40 years old, Spanish nationality, having no criminal record or having at least a secondary education diploma are some of the necessary requirements.

The test that will be practiced this Saturday and Sunday consists of carrying out a series of tests on general theoretical knowledge, languages, spelling y psychotechnics. This year, and as a novelty, it will be the first time that a grammar test.

The opponents who obtain a sufficient score in this knowledge test will be summoned for the physical tests: one of speed (60 meter race), one of resistance (2 kilometer distance race), one of force consisting of carrying out a certain number of push ups according to sex, and a test of swimming of 50 meters.

Those who pass these last tests will be subjected to a personal interview to assess your psychic suitability for the job they are applying for and finally a medical examination to assess their state of health and physical fitness.

Applicants who complete the contest-opposition will join the Baeza Guards Academy (Jaén) y al Duque de Ahumada de Valdemoro Young Guards College (Madrid)where they will receive their professional training during an academic year.
