The number of new corona cases continues to rise. More than 11,000 positive tests have been recorded in 24 hours for the first time since Christmas Day, nearly seven months ago. The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) received 11,064 reports between Wednesday morning and Thursday morning.
Exactly one week ago there were just over 5400 positive tests.
More than 64,000 people have tested positive in the past seven days, an average of nearly 9,200 per day.
