The number of confirmed corona infections in the Netherlands will probably exceed 100,000 on Wednesday. The counter was at 98,240 on Tuesday. ANP writes that on Wednesday morning.
If at least 1,760 cases are registered between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning, the 100,000th positive test is a fact. In recent days there have been about 2000 new cases every 24 hours.
The actual number of corona cases is probably long overdue. Not everyone was tested in the first months of the outbreak. Due to the busyness at the test locations, it has also been difficult in recent weeks to test everyone with complaints.

First infection in the Netherlands
The first infection in the Netherlands was diagnosed on February 27 in a man from Loon op Zand, who had been admitted to a hospital in Tilburg. On March 29, day 32 of the outbreak, the number of corona cases exceeded 10,000. Ten days later, there were already more than 20,000 infections. Nine days later, in mid-April, the counter was above 30,000. Then the pace started to slow down a bit. For example, it took eight weeks for the number of cases to increase from 40,000 (May 2) to 50,000 (June 26) and another nearly seven weeks to reach 60,000 on August 12.
The number of cases has been increasing rapidly in recent weeks. Record after record is broken. On August 30, the corona virus was diagnosed for the 70,000th time, on September 12, the number of infections rose to over 80,000. Last Friday was the 90,000th diagnosis.
