More than 1,000 families from the communes of La Estrella and San Pedro will benefit thanks to Agrosuper’s “Impulsa Agua” program, an initiative carried out in conjunction with the Amulén Foundation, which seeks to contribute to improving the quality of life of residents of rural communities from of financing projects that provide solutions for access to drinking water.
After the application of different initiatives during 2023, four water projects were awarded this competitive fund and are currently implemented, thus allowing the improvement and strengthening of the operation of their Rural Health Services (SSR).
The first winning project, executed in the town of Guadalao (La Estrella, R. O’Higgins), considered the installation of a generator with an energy transfer board and an anchor to ensure continuity, as well as the operation of the supply. in case of outages and system failures. The second project, implemented in San Vicente (San Pedro, RM), consisted of replacing a pond and installing an automatic chlorine dosing pump along with the implementation of a fill sensor to prevent water overflow. The third, meanwhile, considered the replacement of three dies in the town of Loica (San Pedro) and, the fourth, the improvement of infrastructure in a water wheel in La Manga (same commune) along with the installation of shut-off valves and the repair of an electrical panel.
Agrosuper’s Deputy Manager of Community Relations, Rodrigo Torres, highlighted the implementation of this program during the last two years in the O’Higgins and Metropolitana regions. “Having access to quality, continuous and nearby drinking water is a problem that affects many coastal dryland localities. Therefore, through Impulsa Agua, we seek to contribute to the strengthening of the operation and administration of rural health services,” the executive explained.
For her part, the treasurer of SSR Guadalao, Valeria Ulloa, valued the company’s contribution throughout the process. “We thank Agrosuper for helping us with this project, since, thanks to the installation of this generator, we will be able to satisfy all the needs we had as a community,” said the neighbor.
Finally, the executive director of Fundación Amulén, Antonia Rivera, expressed her satisfaction with this collaborative work. “We are very happy about this alliance with Agrosuper, which allows us to contribute to improving the quality of life of members and workers of the benefited SSRs, achieving a positive impact on their daily work,” she said.
With four calls made to date between 2022 and 2023, Agrosuper’s Impulsa Agua program has benefited 3,784 families from 11 communes in the O’Higgins and Metropolitana regions through the implementation of water solutions.
