More than 100 people have been detained in London after a few protests convened by the far right Thursday night after the stabbing on monday of several minors in a recreational center of Southportin the north-west of England, where Three girls lost their lives.
According to law enforcement, there were struggles in central London and Tensions between officers and protesterssome of whom shouted ‘stop the boats’ and ‘save our children’ while throwing bottles and cans at the officers.
The Metropolitan Police of London (MET) said that numerous people were arrested for violent acts, assault on a health worker and for attempting to break through the police cordon to gain access to the Parliament area.
‘Enough is enough’
Officers were deployed in the centre of the British capital to “ensure that disorder was contained” but some police officers suffered minor injuries, the Met added.
The protest, under the title ‘Enough is Enough’ and promoted by followers of extreme righthad been convened after the multiple stabbing during a thematic workshop on Taylor Swift on Monday in Southport.
On Tuesday night there was also Violent disorder in Southport at the end of a vigil for the victims of the attack in that town.
In addition to London, there were violent incidents in other english localitiessuch as Hartlepool, Manchester and Aldershot, where protesters threw bottles and cans at police.
