More than 10 million cases identified worldwide

More than 10 million cases of infection with the new coronavirus have been reported worldwide, more than half of which in Europe and the United States, according to a report by the agency France-Presse (AFP).

According to official data released until 10:30 am today and collected by the agency, at least 10,003,942 cases, 498,779 of them deadly, have been registered to date worldwide.

In Europe, the continent hitherto most affected by the covid-19 pandemic, there are 2,637,546 cases of infection, 195,975 fatal.

In the United States, the country in the world with the most infections and the most deaths, there are 2,510,323 cases and 125,539 deaths.

The pace of the pandemic continues to accelerate worldwide, with one million new cases recorded in just six days.

AFP warns that these figures only reflect a part of the contamination in the world, given that many countries do not use tests for tracking campaigns.
