Institute of Pediatrics ofAmerica (AAP) and the Children’s Hospital Association ofUnited States Revealed that United StatesMore than 1,640,000 children have been infected with the COVID-19 since the virus began to spread in the country. This accounts for 12.2% of the total number of infected people in the country.
Data from the AAP indicate that during the week between 3-10 Dec. last. 178,823 new cases of COVID-19 children were found, the highest weekly record since the outbreak.
In the two weeks, from Nov. 26 to Dec. 10, a 23 percent increase in children were infected with COVID-19.
The rate of COVID-19 infection among children is 2,179 per 100,000 children.
In addition, the report also revealed that Children account for 1.2% – 2.9% of COVID patients admitted to the hospital.
