“Detective Conan – 27th Film: The Million Dollar Pentagram” is the latest cinematic outing for the shrunken detective. The film will have a limited release in Germany – anyone who wants to see the film on the big screen will have to be quick.
Kaitô Kid has struck again! In Hakodate on the northern main island of Hokkaido, a business card belonging to the feared master thief turns up in a warehouse belonging to the Onoe Group. Naturally, this discovery causes a stir, as gentleman robber Kid is known for his spectacular robberies.
At the same time, Hakodate is making other headlines, as a body is found in the warehouse district – with a cross carved into its chest. Disturbing images, but the police have a suspicion: a notorious arms dealer, already known in Japan as the “Merchant of Death”, could be responsible for this murder. But there is much more to these crimes than initially appears. An epic treasure hunt begins for Conan and his friends, during which old secrets must be discovered and lots of puzzles must be solved.
„Detective Conan – 27th film: The Million Dollar Pentagram“ will be released in German cinemas on August 27, 2024 – unfortunately only as a limited theatrical release. Accordingly, it is advisable to quickly secure a ticket for the performances. “The Million Dollar Pentagram”: The most successful “Detective Conan” film
The scaled-down detective’s 27th cinematic adventure was a box office success in Japan. The film was released there in April 2024 and has become the most successful Detective Conan big-screen outing. According to one official tweets on social networks “The Million Dollar Pentagram” was able to bring in over 15 million yen – the equivalent of almost 87 million euros. But unfortunately there is also sad news for fans of the German dubbed version. In May 2024, Jörg Hengstler, the legendary voice of the arrogant wannabe detective Kogorō Mōri, passed away. “Detective Conan – 27th Film: The Million Dollar Pentagram” will now be the first “Detective Conan” film in which we will have to get used to a new speaker. Who will follow in his footsteps has not yet been announced.
