More safety will be created for pedestrian traffic on cantonal roads

This significantly increases their safety. The Department of Construction and Economics approved the project and the loan. With the structural development in the Brenden-Engelgasse district, the frequency of people traveling on foot also increased.

This led to a reassessment of the situation around the traffic junction of the two cantonal roads Heap – Brenden and Lutzenberg – Walzenhausen.

Retaining wall is moved

The southern sidewalk will be extended to the west along the cantonal road “Hüft” – Brenden. This requires moving the retaining wall. The crossing will be newly marked 15 meters west of the existing one to ensure the required visibility.

To ensure that rolling traffic travels more slowly, the turn into the Lutzenberg – Walzenhausen cantonal road will be narrowed. The crossing on the Büchen – Brenden cantonal road will also be renovated so that pedestrian traffic from the Engelgasse district can move more safely to the western part of Brenden.

In the direction of Walzenhausen, the footpath will be paved on the west side to the next junction and widened to 1.5 meters.

Project will be implemented in summer 2025

The Department of Construction and Economics approved the project and the loan. The cost of the construction work is 310,000 francs. The canton is contributing 100,000 francs.

210,000 francs will be covered by the municipality of Lutzenberg. She is responsible for the footpath network. The plan is running; Realization is planned for the summer half of 2024.
