The city now has more public swimming pools open for New Yorkers to cool off this summer.
This Saturday, several families came to the municipal swimming pool in Astoria, one of the six that the city opened this weekend.
These swimming centers are operating at a reduced capacity of 70% with social distancing measures.
Its users are also required to wear face masks the entire time they are in the water.
Those who attended said they were delighted to have a space to keep cool.
The city has 15 swimming pools in the five boroughs that will be open to the public this summer.
